Usage Rules—Announcements List—Discussion List
The OASIS Members list is a discussion list; any participant may post to it. The OASIS Announcements list is moderated. Only approved senders are able to send announcements.
The number of messages sent to the discussion list varies. About every three months, a topic becomes "hot" and the rate goes up significantly for a few days. The annual average is probably about two messages per week. The rate for the announcements list is more like one or two a month.
Although the OASIS Members list is unmoderated, participants are expected to conduct themselves in a mature, adult manner. Rude behaviors will benefit no one. (When you sign up for a list, an "info" message is sent in acknowledgment with this information. You should be sure to keep a copy.)
The discussion list has a configured maximum character count of 40000 characters. Messages over this limit will not be processed by the Majordomo.
OASIS now uses the Mailman list processor. Select the name of the list you wish to join from the Mailman summary page and complete the subscription form.
