Selected Articles from the October 2001 Odyssey

Mars, Meteors, and Music
Mars gets the lion's share of coverage in this issue of the Odyssey with two press releases from NASA organizations studying the red planet. JPL provides an update on the 2001 Mars Odyssey mission and the Space Telescope Science Institute reports on some rarely observed phenomena of Martian weather.
Closer to home, Norm Cook provides suggestions for viewing the annual Leonids meteor shower. (The on-line version of this article contains photos from past Leonid events.) Diane Rhodes reports on an OASIS outing to the Hollywood Bowl for a concert of space-themed music.
The Surf Report (Diane was busy writing this month!) covers the departure of the longest serving ever NASA Administrator, Dan Goldin.
