“And the Winners are. . .”

Neither rain, nor snow. . .

Despite heavy rain on judging day, art contest judge Chris Butler braved the elements and did a stellar job evaluating the dozens of contest entries, which ranged from cats and dogs to donuts, spoons, and basketballs. Both of our winners were from Mrs. Shigeta Perra’s fifth grade class at Alta Vista School in Redondo Beach.

Congratulations to Kyle Boyd Brown, age 11, who won first place for concept with a design entitled Marrigacorus, which incorporated the Seven Sisters (Pleiades) cluster. Devon Nicole Norris, age 11, won first place for execution with Littlest Dolphin & Biggest Dolphin that used a scratch off technique to really capture the concept of the night sky.

Our heartfelt thanks to Chris Butler, who went truly above and beyond, writing personal notes to each contest entrant.
